Introduction

Tungsten carbide graver is also called cemented carbide graver, which is the best material for carving knife with high hardness and strength. It generally uses diamond grinding disc and remarkably improves the grinding speed, quality and ensures the smoothness of the blade.

Comparison

At present, commonly used materials for graver are carbon steel knife and white steel knife. Carbon steel knife is a kind of common graver, it has low hardness and strength, so generally suitable for the beginners. Tungsten carbide graver has better hardness, wear resistance, durability, and longer service life. In a word, each material has own advantages and disadvantages. Although tungsten carbide graver has higher hardness and sharper, its toughness is not as good as white steel knife. If dropped on a concrete floor, head in direct contact with the concrete makes the head appear small chipping. White steel are less prone to chipping, but it will happen blunt touch curling, and need for further grinding.

Maintenance

1. The graver is generally suitable for stone engraving (Qingtian, Shoushan, Changhua, Balin) plexiglass and other printed material, not suitable for jade, crystal and other hard materials;
2. Do not rap when engraving in case of the breakage;
3. Avoid the graver dropping on the hard floor and the damage of the cutting edge;
4. Timely grinding or replacing to ensure the quality of engraving when the edge damage appears.
